The Campaign for the
Brown School at Washington University

Our students come from across the world to learn at the Brown School—whether their goals are to improve social and health services, build capacity or enhance economic opportunity. These agents of change come from diverse economic, ethnic and social backgrounds, and we are committed to supporting their work.

Supporting Our Students

In 2014-15 the Brown School awarded more than $6 million in scholarship support. We offer a variety of prestigious and high-impact scholarships, including:

  • Buder Foundation Scholarships
  • Danforth Scholars Program Scholarships
  • BJC Public Health Scholarship
  • George O. & Caroline G. Carpenter Scholarship for Nurses
  • Bettie Schroth Johnson Scholarships in Social Service Management

We are dedicated to sustaining and increasing this level of support.

Matthew Bakko, MSW ’14, addresses donors, alumni and faculty at the Brown School’s annual Scholarship Luncheon. Bakko received the John F. Kennedy Peace Corps Scholarship.

Accessing the Brown School Experience

The Brown School is a special community. The energy and excellence of our faculty, the diversity and commitment of our students, and the extraordinary opportunities available through our School and Washington University combine to create an exciting academic and professional environment.

Additional financial resources can make the Brown School experience affordable for talented students with limited means.

"What I learned in my two years at the Brown School has equipped me to achieve things I thought were beyond my reach." — Nikki Doughty, MSW'14, Cheif Operating Officer at City Academy
